Now in their 62nd year, the International Safety Awards recognise and celebrate organisations which have demonstrated their commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related ill health during the previous calendar year. The awards also recognise organisations that have shown commitment to wellbeing and mental health at work.

This year, VolkerFitzpatrick received a Pass, for its Stansted Airport and Essoldo House projects, as well as a Merit for its CP6 Renewals team – Anglia. VolkerRail received its sixth consecutive International Safety Award with Distinction and VolkerHighways received an International Safety Award with Merit.

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said: “The British Safety Council commends VolkerWessels UK on their achievement. These awards are in recognition of their commitment and their efforts to keep employees and workplaces free of injury and ill health.”

Andy Battye, head of HSEQS for VolkerFitzpatrick, said: “This recognition from the British Safety Council serves to reinforce our continuing strategy and commitment to keeping our workers and workplaces healthy and safe. In doing so, we ensure that we can experience excellence in the workplace for our employees, clients and stakeholders, which couldn’t be achieved without the ongoing effort and diligence of our teams.”
