Joint venture projects nominated for Ground Engineering awards

Two projects involving VolkerFitzpatrick and VolkerStevin have been nominated for the Ground Engineering Awards 2016.

The VolkerFitzpatrick led Anglia Route Collaboration (ARC) is a joint venture with Atkins and Network Rail, undertaking Rail infrastructure improvement works as part of the CP5 framework. The team has been nominated for the Sustainability Award, recognising their risk management and observational design approach on works to improve Ashdon Way Railway Embankment in Basildon, Essex.

VBA, a joint venture between VolkerStevin, Boskalis Westminster and Atkins, have been nominated alongside ground engineering specialists, Keller for their work on the Crag End landslip stabilisation project in Rothbury, Northumberland. The project has been nominated in the UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of over £3M category where they will compete against nine other projects across the country.

The teams in Basildon and Rothbury are excellent examples of collaborative working under two of our largest joint venture partnerships. The recognition received through these nominations highlights the fantastic work being carried out on both of these projects.”

The Ground Engineering Awards celebrate engineering excellence of companies across the UK. The awards will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Park Lane in London on 30 June 2016.
