VolkerFitzpatrick building better lives for the country’s homeless
The building division of VolkerFitzpatrick has become the latest patron of CRASH, the construction and property industry charity that aims to improve the lives of homeless people.
CRASH brings together the skills, products and expertise of companies within the construction and property industry to help develop and refurbish emergency night shelters, hostels, day centres and move-on accommodation that homeless people need every day.
By becoming a patron VolkerFitzpatrick’s building division will join other industry leaders in helping to improve lives through donations of expertise, money and resources. Staff will also have the opportunity to volunteer their time to help directly on current CRASH led homelessness projects.
CRASH receives no government funding so relies entirely on the donations from patron companies and fundraising efforts from their staff. VolkerFitzpatrick staff are playing their part in fundraising by completing a number of events raising money for the charity including the London Triathlon and London to Paris bike ride.
David Sershall, managing director of VolkerFitzpatrick’s building division said: “We are delighted to partner with CRASH to offer our support and expertise to a charity that does such great work across the UK.
“We are committed to help improve the facilities used by homeless people around the country and hope to soon be making a positive contribution to their current projects.”
Francesca Roberts, chief executive of CRASH said: “Our patron companies underpin every single homelessness project we undertake. We simply could not respond to the requests we receive for help without their support.
“We are thrilled that VolkerFitzpatrick has chosen to work with CRASH in this way. Their commitment to making a real, lasting difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable members of our communities is commendable.”
