VolkerFitzpatrick win at CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2016
A VolkerFitzpatrick training programme designed to show the importance of getting building services right during construction projects has won the CIBSE Building Performance Training Programme Award 2016.
The one-day, ‘Building Services Explained For VolkerFitzpatrick Site Teams’ course was developed by building services and sustainability director, Ted Pilbeam along with training expert Glenn Hawkins of Clear Construction. The programme is seen as a major part of increasing awareness of the role that building services play in the overall performance of a building and help it become a fixture in the work of the VolkerFitzpatrick tender and site teams.
Commenting on the award win, Ted Pilbeam said: “We’re delighted to win this prestigious award, especially considering the strong shortlist of worldwide entries. This is recognition of the importance VolkerFitzpatrick places on this critical aspect of our work”.
The CIBSE judges praised the ‘Building Services Explained For VolkerFitzpatrick Site Teams’ programme and said: VolkerFitzpatrick demonstrated an exceptional level of corporate commitment to training those who deliver building projects, specifically ensuring that an understanding of the building’s services is applied on site to improve the performance of the completed building.”
The CIBSE Building Performance Awards recognise the people, products and projects that demonstrate engineering excellence in the built environment and were presented at a special ceremony at Grosvenor House in Park Lane, London on 24 February 2016.
