VolkerFitzpatrick's Bishops Square project gets highly commended in the 2024 Structural Steel Design Awards
Held in September at Christ Church Spitalfields, the 56th Structural Steel Design Awards showcase excellence in the use of structural steel across a wide range of projects.
The £11.5 million Bishops Square project included the construction of a new retail unit near Spitalfields Market, London. Works include the construction of a 2-storey mixed-use development, to provide ten retail units. VolkerFitzpatrick's team was highly commended in the Structural Steel Design Awards 2024.
The new building was constructed in a narrow, challenging environment, which came with many constrictions. It is situated over an existing basement vehicle access ramp, used weekly by over 1500 vehicles, and had to remain open for much of the time.
