Mayor of West Midlands recent visit to our Camp Hill Lines project

Recently the mayor of West Midlands visited our Camp Hill Lines project alongside James Hindes and other senior representatives, where we are designing and building three railway stations on the Camp Hill line in south Birmingham, on behalf of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM).
The £61 million project will reintroduce rail connections to Moseley, Kings Heath, and Hazelwell (Pineapple Road station). The original stations in the area were closed over 80 years ago, cutting off key neighbourhoods from the regional rail network.
We are currently in construction at Kings Heath where two platforms and lift shafts are already in place, ahead of a passenger footbridge installation planned for later this spring. A new pedestrian crossing is also being installed on the road outside the station to improve accessibility.
Richard Parker the Mayor of the West Midlands, visited the Kings Heath site alongside James Hindes, VolkerFitzpatrick Managing director, to discuss the project's status and confirmed that construction remains on schedule.
Despite the scale of the work and several logistical hurdles—including the relocation of a protected badgers’ sett at Moseley Village, the discovery of a Victorian well at Kings Heath, and the restoration of a historic wall next to Pineapple Road in Stirchley—our team at Kings Heath project team has made significant progress whilst working alongside an active railway line with trains running throughout the day.
Once complete, the new stations will transform local travel, reduce traffic congestion, and provide faster links to central Birmingham, enhancing connectivity for thousands of residents across the south of the city.
