Shortlisted Categories: 

Contractor of the Year (over £500m) 

As one of the UK’s leading engineering and construction businesses, VolkerFitzpatrick is proud to deliver complex, high-impact projects across the building, infrastructure, rail, and aviation sectors. This nomination highlights our ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and collaboration, while also recognising our industry leadership in sustainability and championing women in construction. 

Project of the Year (under £20m) – Radlett Strategic Rail Freight Interchange ECI - Landfill Remediation Works 
As a part of the Radlett SRFI, Phase 1 project, the project team delivered a collaborative, sustainable earthworks solution. By remediating only essential areas and using innovative mechanical recovery, 67% of landfill material was reused and 33% recycled. This approach reduced environmental impact, cut costs, and accelerated the programme by four months. 

Project of the Year (under £20m) – Kingston Cromwell Road Bus Station 
Commissioned by Transport for London, the redevelopment transformed a 30-year-old facility into a modern, safer, and more accessible multi-modal hub. The revamped station is now equipped to handle future growth while supporting sustainable travel in Kingston. 

Community Engagement Project of the Year – Magna Park, Corby 
Delivered on behalf of GLP, this £84 million logistics development went beyond bricks and mortar. VolkerFitzpatrick generated over £7 million in social value, supporting one of England’s most deprived areas. Highlights included £20,000 in food bank donations and ongoing support for a local children’s centre, helping to build lasting community resilience. 

This latest recognition reinforces VolkerFitzpatrick’s position as a standout performer in the construction industry—combining technical excellence with social impact and a forward-thinking approach. 

Winners will be announced at the Construction News Awards ceremony in July.
