We are thrilled to announce that we (as part of VolkerWessels UK), have been awarded Gold accredited membership as part of The 5% Club.
This accolade ensures that a minimum of 5% of our workforce comprises early careers on formal training schemes. This highlights our commitment to empowering our employees through “earn & learn” initiatives such as Apprenticeships, Graduate programmes, and Work Placements.
At VolkerFitzpatrick, we are proud to provide a wide range of opportunities for young people to learn and develop skills in the construction and civil engineering industry. By prioritising education and employability, we not only make a positive impact on local communities but also leave a lasting legacy well beyond the completion of our projects. We offer skilled mentors to help young adults along the way and a range of additional training and mentoring to broaden their personal development.
Initiatives like this are crucial for equipping the next generation with the skills needed to address the industry's growing demands.
“On November 18th, Marcus and I attended the 5% Club Annual Employer Audit Symposium at the BT Tower. VolkerWessels UK, for the first time, participated in the audit, which focuses on having 5% of the workforce in earn-and-learn roles. We were proud to achieve Gold Membership for our commitment to apprenticeships, inclusion, and social mobility, joining 229 employers in showcasing the success of our professional development programs”.
